Over-Run Stripped Gear Over-Run
The traveling rig moves upon a threaded rod that controls its direction and speed. If the carriage were to come to the end of the rod, it would strip the drive rod and damage the rig. This is prevented through the use of micro-switches. It can also be referred to as "stripping a gear."
